arma et virumque cano - That is What I Kept Saying In My Head at the Airport

I started reading the Penguin Classics copy of Virgil's Aeneid, which is translated by W. F. Jackson Knight.  I'm pretty in love with it.  It's given me a new dream.  I've got to get good at translating the Aeneid.  Translating Latin is going to be my new talent.  At present, I have not been maintaining any talents, unless you call blogging a talent.

I might also pretend that I am Aeneas on my travels.  I'm not actually a fan or anything of the bloke, but I like to think that maybe someone like the Gods cares for me.  If that even makes sense.

I have been in Singapore for more than twenty-four hours now.  I had a turbulent flight.  But don't worry, it turned out okay and I didn't throw up even though I was stuck in my seat for three quarters of an hour with a painful bladder and a tray of cookies and cream mousse and lamb in cream sauce.  I'd like to be cryptic, or should I say "kryptik", and leave it to you to decide whether the A380 is Indie or not.  It's not that I'm a country turtle or anything, but I had the time of my life because the INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT WORKED.  Even during turbulence, take-off and landing, and other times.  I watched Gosford Park and I recommend it.  Indies are culturally aware and I think satirical movies about the English class-system in 1935 should be high on your agenda.  Like, one must get the staples watched, but it's really rather more important to digest the unmainstream Indie works.  I'm just saying.  But if you still wanna keep up with the Jones or the Jonas brothers or whatevs, fine, go ahead, waste your days away watching Woody Allen films until you feel you could respond to any situation as Woody Allen.  And it had a stunner cast!  Then I actually had a sleep.

Look at this cool thing from the aeroplane.  If you look hard, you will see that there is some bird crap with a feather in it stuck to the camera.

I went to Orchard Road today.  I walked up and down a million times, but one could count on one hand the number of shops I entered.  And the shop I wanted to go to was not even open.

Here are some things I have eaten today.  But I will spare you the details so I will not talk about the chuee kway, the apple or the curry puff, none of which I have photographed.

Note:  Above are two photos of one fish.  I didn't eat two, incase you know, you thought that.

I cannot remember a time when I ever went to Singapore and didn't go to Takashimaya to get a pancake filled with chocolate and in the shape of a fish.

Then I decided it would be cool to go to the mall for young people.  Unfortunately only the food places were open.  I took these photos of the closed clothes shops.  Most, I think, were hipster men's shops, but I imagined myself going in and buying something without realising they were for men.  Then I walked around the park and went to the 'underground' cool young people market.  I considered getting this coloured chalk pastels for hair.  Maybe when I go back.  All sorts of colours.  There was a picture of it's effect...on blonde hair.  So hmmm...

Naturally I came first, as  the mall was almost a ghost town.  But don't worry, I didn't get creeped out by the idea that people might pop out from around corners in hats like these:

That is class - using fonts which really speak to the niche.

The age old tradition cool young skaters have of buying hydroponic basil under the awning of an old red bus.

I think Maccas Mans has a competitor for Indiest outlet.

My lunch - Penang Char Kway Teow!

Saw some Indie people, too.  Shall I ask people if I can photograph them?

Also, I bought my brother a Gangnam Style t-shirt.  Good job Billie!

The Yoghurt Phenomenon

Oh no. I just realised this post never posted! Don't trust the scheduled post!

So what's with the new sudden blogging like it's a random thing or something?  I'm getting really into my personal style (that doesn't mean I'm getting into myself as a person or whatever or anything.)  You see, up 'til now, I've been more into public style and commenting on what the general public or certain parts of the public such as Indies do.  And I would have opinions and I would voice them.  However, I would not consider myself as have being a bastion of my personal beliefs during that time.  Lol.  Jokes.  Must have ben the Tavi Gevinson effect on me.  I'm talking about how she went from being a trend connoisseur to being a trend creator.  I've really forgotten what I was trying to say.

So, anyway, I'm getting into the alternative and the mystic.  Oh wait, that's mystic with a 'k' like Mystik Spiral.  For a month maybe, I was really irritated with anything alternative.  But now I'm embracing it.  Kind of like the opposite of when I tried to be Indie (years before I started this blog and doubtlessly long before you even knew there was such a thing as Indie music, assuming you even knew about music labels anyway.)  Yeah, and then I totally went anti-Indie.  But then I just stopped being agro.  And then I loled.  Like, I developed greater depth and breadth in my humour.  But, like, now, I'm kind of ironic about existing, so it's all good.  I'm not trying to be random or anything, but I'm just letting my style be as random as their conception.

The other day my mother asked me why I was suddenly so confident about my appearance.  I tried to get her to understand, but I guess old folks these days just don't understand that something can be ironic because it isn't.  Why do adults have to be so imposing of the ideas?  Old fashioned things fail sometimes.  Like, hello!?  Did they not live through the fear-of-the-post-apocalyptic-phase phase?  So why can't they just take the future and the present a bit more lightly?  They must be so mainstream-ed out, I don't even wanna say.

So anyway, now I just feel comfortable with talking openly about myself on my blog.  I don't need to make any tricky allusions of anything.

So anyway, today my dreadlock turns one week.  This is a fact which not many people know about me.  I copied the method by the Danish youtuber Anna April. So, I'm going for this minimalist look by just having one dreadlock.  My mate Joanna and I are going for this new look called "Hippy doing the IB".  Which means that we are really cultured in global matters/affairs/phenomenons/stuff.  She linked me this brazilian psychedelic song from the sixties:

This kickstarted our new movement.  Ironically, we have to be into World Music.  Which I hate because alternative people like it.  Friends, Romans, countrymen...the wise words of Christian Lander:
WARNING:If you live near a white person who is into world music, start looking for a new place to live. They are literally days away from buying a new instrument. (p. 120 Whiter Shades of Pale)
Our new look is somewhat eclectic but also all about putting pieces together that challenge society's conventions.  The key idea is to successfully integrate hippy items and preppy items to form an outfit.  It's wild.  People these days are using the term "off the rails", so I'll use it, too.  But the look is not simply hippy and preppy mashed together, it's also intellectual in the fact that I'm striving to be an OXYMORON.

The theme of this post is "getting more cultured during the final quarter of 2012".  The theme of my life during the third quarter was watching all of the Daria episodes and wearing my limited edition Daria t-shirt.  Dude!  I still haven't watched the movies!  I suppose I'm saving them for a milestone event.  Anyway, I've talked about point one, which was my new passion for having personal, cultured style.

Point two is how on Halloween (totes pissed off I forgot to celebrate All Saints Day, which I think is MY PERSONAL day, seeing as I don't have a patron saint), which was on Wednesday, I went with some mates to my local cinema.  I couldn't even pause before saying that I consider it the most Indie in my "city".  Yeah.  And the room wasn't even half-packed.  And I forgot to present my student card, so I paid full-price.  And the one thing I hate more than not getting a bargain is paying extra.  Whatevs.

We watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  Lol.  Probs one of the shittest films but I loved the cultural experience!  People were yelling out lines and rude things on cue and they were dressed up and had brought props.  So intense.  And then afterwards, these "old" couples were analysing the experience.   They'd probs been watching it every year since the senventies.  And they were saying how great it would be to see a full audience and who would get really into it.  And my mate Hannah and I were like "I didn't see you dancing along" but we didn't actually say that to them.

So anyway, despite my fondness for the songs, I didn't find the jokes funny.  And I am suffering post-traumatic trauma from the portrayal of sex in that movie.  Believe it or not but I'm gonna be concise:  It's a film which can't be forgotten - I'm scarred for life.  Whatevs.  But speaking from the point of view of someone who would be commenting on a pop-culture icon,  I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is immature.  And if you were to be mature, you wouldn't be watching that film.  But anyway, if you need someone to convince you to join the late-night Rocky Horror watcher cult, I'll again refer you to Christian Lander:
Under no circumstances should you ever accept an invitation to go see The Rocky Horror Picture Show. White people spend less time preparing for their SATs than for this movie.  (p. 183 ibid.)
ANYWAY...This is the part where I reveal my excitement at my big overseas trip which is coming up very soon.  I shall keep you in suspense by not revealing any further details.  I hope to blog at least once whilst away.  Here is a song, which features in two of the most teen icon movies Clueless and LOL, to sum up general Canberra Indie vibes a la moment:

The Land Down Under

ARGH.  Hahahaha.  Here is a post I wrote nearly two months ago but didn't get the photo until the other day!  So here it is:
It's been such a long time since last blogging in that I can't believe I actually managed to get my password right.
I really wanted to write this blog post.  But then I closed a door on my big toe and then the spark to write left me.

But then I forced myself to write it.  So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't really want to write this blogpost but feel I need to.  So I guess I'm not a quitter after all.

I've noticed how in so many posts I've illustrated my exciting exotic adventures overseas.  So in this blogpost, I'd really like to take the time to spend time writing about some great travels I've actually had, like, actually in Australia.

A few weeks ago I went to Milton to pick up my new puppy Camilla.  But I don't want to put a picture up now, not because I'm too lazy, but because one day I'll do a whole photographic post of pictures of her many looks.  Like the Simpsons Movie, which is really only the kind of movie one would watch once, but I've actually seen it a few times (I don't know why, I don't even like it that much.)

I really liked Milton, the shops had all these things one just can't get in Canberra!  I loved the bookshop, it had good books and good style.  And while I'm mentioning the word style, style is so much more than just appearances.  It's like how these days people are using this word 'swag' all the time, it's a concept that couldn't be so easily described before!  So style and swag are closely linked.  But you can't say a bookshop has swag.  Anyway, the thing is, the world these days is deep.  And then there was this antique furniture place and all these people lying around on the grass without shoes on.  The vibe was good.  I would try to use that abbreviated form of the word 'casual', but I can't spell it.  Actually maybe that word would not be accurate.  Because it was totes spunky and sophisticated as well.  And then we ate lunch at this vegetarian place and it was really good.  It was also quite slow, but hey, who am I to say anything when I've never tried putting sprouts on a small plate next to a pie that had just come out of the heating up box?  I learned a valuable lesson from Quinn Morgendorffer today about the value of quality of time over quantity of time.  And I need to tell you that when you're in a place where you're receiving good vibes, it's good for you, so don't sweat or swear.
I didn't take my camera with me, so here is a photo my Dad took in this AMAZING shop called Twigs where where the woman in the picture, called Rachel, makes beautiful handmade clothes.  The jacket on the left is very interesting - it is reversible.  (If you can see it.)  And I bought my mate Alyce a pair of earrings which were in the shape of an intricate flower but handmade out of this plastic-like stuff, all one piece.
This is a MUST GO place.
Moving on, as this is the appreciation of Australia instalment of my somethingness, it's time I share this wonderful photo I took probs half a year ago or more at Bondi Junction (in Sydney) in the shopping mall.  I lol EVERY TIME!

Why I Might Not Be White

Inspired by the words of Christian Lander in Stuff White People Like on "High School English Teachers".  Those are quotation marks denoting the words inside are reported, they aren't like, "supposed" or anything.

If you're old, you might not know what "shit goes down" in High School English class in these days which pass us by.

  1. Bitch about society;
  2. Explore the truths explored in the novel.  These days one is totes seeing so many people talking about "making things up" or whatevs about the novel.  They are just mainstream brats who just don't believe that the author could be smarter than them.  Just like how people totes "hate on" Tavs Gevs;
  3. Talk deeply, i.e. become TEENAGE PHILOSOPHERS (I wasn't shouting, though);
  4. Listen to our own opinions and "learn from them";
  5. Try to find meaning - in just the same way that we don't know what the aim is in our essays;
  6. RELATE OURSELVES to the characters in the books. e.g why do we hate Emma Bovary so much - because we're just like her!  This is totes a good thing for society and for ourselves.  Because it's good to understand people;
  7. Be objectively subjective or the other way around;
  8. Exercise our moral high-ground;
  9. Find academic ways to tell our "peers" "You're thinking is shit";
  10.  Have the teacher explain to us our reaction to the characters and novel.  But English is not about being "personal", so one should totes not say what you thought about the characters because that is totes not academic.  THE STUDENT SHOULD PASS NO JUDGEMENT ON THE CHARACTERS OF THE CHARACTERS;
  11. Think up creative ways to express an opinion we don't understand / try to write a thousand-plus words without letting on that we know "fuck-all";
  12. One's opinions are always valued by "peers" and the teachers, but on judgement day it is revealed that they are wrong/boring/immature/totallylackingincreativity/spokeninamonotone,whichshowsyouaretotesknowingyourcontenttoowellbutinabadway;
  13. Be passionate and evoke responses.  In general, be inspired.  That's why kids these days are so good at creative writing.
Numbering things is totes angsty, btw.

Some people think they are darn cool because they take English and they are thinking that English is cool because it is all about having your OWN OPINION, which pretty much means you don't have to be anyone but yourself.  Pretty much, English is about YOU BEING YOU.
Whatevs.

 But what I'm saying is that also, there's so much room for general growth in English.  Things not clear cut like in Mathematics where x is x, fullstop.  (bahahaha.) Life is not clear-cut.  Like Mathematics may totes be aconstruct which is why is clear-cut only if you see it as clear-cut.  Because the world is confusing.  But anyway, in English, you make the world from a world or two.  I've lost the point I was trying to make...  If you're the type of person who takes English over Maths, then you can have, like, life-changing experiences without actually living in the "real adult world"!  Like, you can totes be a teenager and read something life-changing like HARUKI MURAKAMI and just like get wise whilst still being at school!

In the world of deepness, you're not confined.
You're free, you're an Indie.

And so, white people would say that it's not just the book, it's also the teacher who brings you to understand your immaturity as both a person in the scheme of life and in your ideas.  Lap it up like a dog, children.

And now to another entirely connected rant.  What the hell is with Oral Presentations?  Remember that they are neither a discussion nor a lecture (though one may be discussing by oneself...)  They must be engaging but not a chat.  Engaging but not a chat.  Try not to read a speech, but at the same time, you should know exactly what you're going to say.  SUCH A BLOODY CONSTRUCT!!  I refuse to conform!  Especially when I don't know what I'm meant to be/do.  And I just don't think that creativity can be judged because I just don't think the idea of judging is right since I'm unsure of whether it's a creative process.  But is that not a deep truth about humanity?  As humans, we are stuck in this paradox...

Indies on the Offensive

Yeah, what the hell. I actually read that whole article.  Guess I'm chubby.  So, are we criticising hipsters in today's interview?
That's somewhat how I remember its birth.  I remember we were all living in this group house.  It was pretty exclusive.  I guess you could call it Indie, if you wanna give it a label. [gives a look I can't decipher.  don't know if being ironic or actually giving a condescending death-stare] By exclusive, I don't mean racist or sexist or anti-GLBTQ or anything, it's just...you wouldn't get it.  Anyway, then these guys, don't wanna name any names.  Bloody shit-head commercial people (that's the downfall of today's youth) came and made these bloody commercial extensions on the house, crappy job.  And then there were all these hipsters about.  Like, it was no surprise to me.  Like, if this had been TV, it would  have been just as surprising as at the end of a home-renovation show when the family gets back from their weekend away.
So, you're saying you read that long article?
Bloody hell yeah.  I see their point.  That guy was saying something about hipsters not creating stuff...well, as you can see on this Tumblr site I found, there's this phrase, "Hipsters buy art, Indies create art."  And I'd like to say three things in response to your question and in relation to this quote:
a)  If you're creative, this creativity is innate, and it's gonna come out no matter what.  Why the hell do you think oppressed people still make art?  Like, some countries actually don't let you express yourself.  For real.  But there are hard-core artists.  And the same thing is true even of countries like this one today.  Why do you think it's been so hard for me as an artist?  Because people want you to fucking conform!
b) Conformism is part of human nature.  That's a truth my High School English Teacher revealed to me.  So you can't hate the hipsters.  Just as creative people will create no matter what, the hipster is just a mainstream conformist and will conform no matter what.
c) I'd like to thank the hipsters for supporting my art.
That was deep.  Now, what can you say you feel about the last paragraph of the article?  Would you say you find its depth to be moving?
I'm not sure I can say that.  I'm just not sure about the whole Western civilisation thing.  I guess that in the end, we're all gonna die...

Save the Applause, Please.

OMG, the big news.  Haha.  Ahhh, the holidays, a great time to make plans eventuate.  So here's a short story.

So I just finished watching Ginger Snaps with Joanna, because we'd ben wanting to watch it for like, a year since we saw it on Rookiemag.

Here's a photo I found of it on the internet.
Pretty much, it's about this girl with the red hair who is bitten by a werewolf and then her sister is trying to cure her.  At first, the two sisters are total emos who although they are wearing millions of layers and a big puffy jacket, don't seem to need to wear tights under their flowy skirts.  And they take all these photos of themselves as dead people with pitchforks through their necks or with a picket fence stuck through their middle and they show it to their class as a powerpoint presentation.  All the adults in the story are idiots and there are a lot of drugs.  Once Ginger becomes a werewolf, she kills a few people.  The thing is, after I watched the film, I asked, "what was the point of it?"  It was insane.  It wasn't even that scary because the whole time, you knew who the baddie was and it was just totally ridiculous.

But the two girls were really Indie, which is the reason to watch Ginger Snaps.  They had the type of teenage bedroom Indies like to talk about and the two sisters were as close as shown in the above picture.  And they went through a TRANSFORMATION which was a Rookiemag theme one month.  Although the younger sister appeared to be really immature, she took on the burden of the sister and the fate of the town into her own hands.  Also, there were ATTITUDE SCENES - strutting around, casting glances and using 'fuck' or 'this is so fucked' as an interjection every ten seconds.  One of the other cool things were that the two actresses were actually quite a lot older than the characters but I never would have guessed!  The two characters were totally relatable but in an absurd fictional way!!!!!!

When you think about the film as a whole, it's actually quite funny because it's so crazy, but when you're watching it you are thinking "where are the jokes?"

So what is the point of the story I am telling?  After watching this film, I remembered I was an Indie.  So Joanna and I started a Tumblr site!!!!!  Can't even remember were we got the idea from, but we acted swiftly!  Greatest achievement of the holidays!  We called it, "I Saw You on the Internet".  Here it is:

Playlists

Why am I typing?  I got up at the crack of dawn to type up an assignment, worked on it during my free period, skipped a class to work on it, and spent all lunch on it as well. Do I want RSI or whatever?

As soon as you hear that someone's made a playlist, you know that guy knows his stuff and is, hence, an Indie.  But what drives the Indie to create a playlist?  The key is in the words "Indie" and "create".  As you surely know, Indies have this innate sense of creativity and this compels them to do creative things, like, all the time.  There's no mundane in the Indie's life - music listening is fancy.

Throughout an Indie's life, they have moods, experiences, awakenings and phases.  How great would it be if your life had a soundtrack.  Frankly, that wouldn't really work out because seeing as there is not a god picking the songs for you, you will be needing hindsight to do this.  This is because the music needs to be reflective of you and your experiences.  Each time you're feeling a certain way, you can scream your heart out to those certain songs that give the message that you need to get through this experience.  Bring them back to their youth or whatever, help you in your time of trial.  Madonna is an artist who really helps people along.  I'm not an expert.

Another reason for creating playlists is to at least get some cudos for coolness when you're felling bitter about your lack of soundtrack to life.

Yet another cause to create them is that once you've put the time and energy into creating a playlist, you've set the mood for your work and so you're able to carry through with one idea for longer.  Otherwise you'd totally not be focused because you'd be being carried off by other creative ideas.

In Stuff White People Like, Christian Lander caps locks the word "warning" and then writes:  "Indie music is perhaps the most dangerous subject you can discuss with white people.  One false move and you will lose their respect and admiration forever."  (What would you say if I told you I listen to the BeeGees nearly everyday?)  To a great extent, you can redeem yourself if one bad song is on a list of great songs.  One song doesn't define your taste.  It's part of a collection of tracks.  And when you're in the mood...

Some people are using 8tracks.  You can make, like a piece of art to go with your playlist.  The thing is that these days, people are making not just playlists to go with their moods but also mood boards etc.  So, like, Indies are being creative all the time.  When you post an 8tracks playlist of your creation, you're bringing it all together.

Good old iTunes.  Take a screenshot of your playlist and Wall post it someone on Facebook.  Aside form the fact that it gets your taste out there, it's a really considerate thing to do for someone because seeing as music is the closest thing to your soul and you are SHARING IT WITH SOMEONE, like, wow, man.  Also, they are LETTING YOU JUDGE THEM and their life experiences based on their tastes.

If you're only going to take one thing away from this blog post, let it be this:  People who upload playlists to Facebook are totally selfless. And you should take advantage of it.  However, you are indebted to the person who shares their soul out to you and who could possibly be CHANGING YOUR LIFE.  Remember this forever.  If you wouldn't plagiarise in your essays, then you shouldn't take on someone else's taste as your own without proper referencing.

Nearly the holidays.......

So guess who posted?  Teenage Construct.  So, even though I'm feeling pretty uncreative, I'm posting.
So I was watching this:

And then her top reminded me of:

And this makes me crack up every time.
So anyway, what's new?  Well, I think I'm sick of the whole not knowing what I'm gonna be when I grow up.
So next time someone asks, I'll be telling them I wanna be a comedian.
And then come across as a really boring person.  Which would be, like, a totally unmainstream way to make a joke.
And that's what I love about Indie stuff.  There's, like, no limits or anything, man.  You know what I mean?
But that was all a joke.  What I really will be is a CELEBRITY.  Like this:

Kabam.  Dude.  I am so making a reference to something from the eighties that made pop culture references.
And that leads me to mention ROOKIEMAG because that has to do with pop culture references.
So anyway, today, for the first time ever, I talked about Rookiemag and Tavi Gevinson with people at my school.
So we were like, this is like the Rookiemag Road Trip but not.
Don't you just love Clueless?  Seeing as people are calling me preppy, I reckon I should Cher-up a bit.  Like, start chewing chewing-gum.
OMG.  I'm wearing this Ralph Lauren cable jumper.  And I'm almost pretty sure that this guy from One Direction was wearing a cream/white version in a music video.
You know what?  The other day I saw some youngsters and I had one of those long moments where you have one of those deep "life is changing and I so was like unaware" feelings.  And then you go silent and then you can only say one thing in repetition for the next few minutes.  Because I realised youngsters these days dress hipster.  And just then as I was writing this post I realised that they dress like the celebrities called One Direction.  Dude, this is a change for the better.  Gone are the days of the short shorts, supre singlets and pulled up socks.
xoxo.  Homework time!

How to Keep it Kool When Your at Skool

So, I've just got to write a blog post.  Close my eyes and let the inner cool kid pour out.  Today I finally finished reading My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk for World Literature.  Argh.  Biggest achievement of my life.  But the celebration was a bit crap...getting confused about relative velocity questions and then doing no other work for the rest of the day...   But anyway, moral of the story, in the fifteen hundreds Islamic world, behind a blind artist meant that you could totally paint exactly what Allah perceives.  Going blind is Allah's reward for your being a good guy.  Oh, I've forgotten what that had to do with what I was saying.

So where have I gotten this new inspiration to write about myself from?  I'm listening to the Bee Gees!  Dude, don't want to sound uncool or anything, but I've been a FAN since before I even knew about iTunes.
So, in the holidays I took Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights to my friend's house to show her and then she just sat there reading it.  It's this great cookbook by Sophie Dahl.  I'd like to say, "that's what I've been eating" but actually I've been eating these sour, hard kiwi fruits that just did not ripen even though they had been sitting in my kitchen for nearly a month.  And Sophie Dahl writes not just about the dishes, but the book is also a memoir of her relationship with food; there are funny stories from her childhood, her teenage-girl era, modelling career, and omg this time when her personal trainer forgot to hang up the phone to her and then he was bitching about her to his mate, and then how food has shaped her as a person, like, self -realisation etc.  It's witty, funny and very clever.  She's a great writer.  And it's not a health trash spiel book.  Joanna and I seriously recommend it.  Also, she wears gumboots and just gives off this total Clarice Bean vibe!

So what have I been seeing around at the "indiest school in town"?  Hahaha, lol, so my friend who doesn't go to my school asked me in awe if it is like a "mini-Melbourne" and I was like, lol, what a nice fantasy, I'm  glad that's not true because otherwise I would totes not fit in due to my dagginess.  So,
  1. People saying "LOL", like, to your face.  Anyway, in French class we were going to maybe watch LOL but now we actually aren't, we're watching this movie called Entre les Murs  about this Year 9/10 class in Paris in the 20th.  It's quite interesting.  The challenges depicted present heaps to reflect on about school.  Which is an Indie topic, right?
  2. Ripped black stockings.  Dear people who wear these, how the hell do you get into them when they barely exist?
  3. Leggings without a long top.  This was not one of "the looks" at my old school.  Here's what I've learned: the philosophy behind this look is that attention will be drawn to how long your legs are and people will gaze and comment about how you have the best legs, how you're so cute, how you're so sexy.  So, pieces that go with leggings are sandals, boots, all black, necklaces with crosses on them, cropped tops, see-through garments, and of course converse.
  4. Fountain pens.  That is what the hipster shit is made of - quality shit.  (Yeah, maybe I should stop acting into the keyboard.  Like, I don't even know if hipster say "made of or "made from".)  Anyway, I don't get what people mean when they use "shit" as a noun.  What is the feeling they are trying to convey, what are they trying to say?  Oh, and also when they refer to people as "being a dick"?  Does that mean Tom/Dick/Harry punched you in the face?  Bitched about you?  Said something stuck-up?  Wanna be anymore vague?
So now I PROMISE that at sometime I will photograph these great French Vogues from the 1990s (yes, some are older than I am) that are in my French classroom.  Some advertisements are so rookiemag.  Hahahaha.  Love you long time.
